Hello all and welcome to Phisto's Brew Blog. This website is dedicated to home brewing, specifically home brewed mead. Most of the recipes posted here will be my own concoctions. For brewing mead I have chosen the path of "natural/historic". This means that all of my brews will only contain naturally occurring materials, such as fruits, spices, yeasts, and water. I will not be adding chemicals or man made elements to enhance my meads. Now I am not all 100% natural as I will be using over the counter spices, yeasts, etc. I will also be using historic methods for brewing my mead. These are methods that are quite simple like pasteurizing and boiling. For more information on brewing as a process please see http://www.gotmead.com
Posts will contain information on brewing. But there is also a "in the brew" section. This section will contain all my active brews. There will be also be two sections called "Successes" and "Failures". Successes will have my successful brews and full recipes/methods. Failures will have my unsuccessful brews with recipes/methods. Why would I blog about Failures? Well that's simple. I am but one mere brewer, and at this point not all that experienced one at that. Failures will be blogged in the event someone with a better understanding of brewing will come about and lend me/us a hand!
