Update - Blueberry Melomel!

Looked at this mead again today. Not hard as it is now sitting next to the Peach/Strawberry starter mead. It is definitely clearer than 3 days ago, but there is no lees. All I can lend to this is that 3 days ago I was looking through some pretty cloudy glass as it kept fogging due to the temp of the liquid within. I taste tested today, it did seem a bit more mellow, but not to my liking. So, what did I do? Poured another glass of course.

I performed a few tests:

1. Does drinkability improve as one consumes more...No. After one and a half glasses (12 oz) drinkability does not improve.

2. Does drinkability improve with back sweetening....yes. With one tsp of added honey the drinkability did improve considerably. I am now thinking of ways of back sweetening the whole batch with more honey and blueberries, and perhaps going through another clearing phase.

3. Does it get you smashed....short answer yes, long answer also yes. After a grand total of 20 oz I did get a slight buzz. So would this beverage get you smashed quickly, this brewer thinks yes....and away I go!

Just a note on my Alcohol tolerance...I am no light weight. Ask around. During my "heavier" party days in college I would ingest a 750ml of vodka per night and still outlast many a "beer drinker". So if 20 oz gets me feeling it...you bet your bottom dollar it will get you a buzz!

Cheers!
