Well, sorry for the long wait but here is the update!
Turns out fermentation probably did take place. The less are a combination of the yeast that died in the process as well as the "pulp" from the blueberry slurry. So that night I placed the carboy in my fridge and it has been clearing ever since. It seems to be going at an alright pace, too slow for my liking but you can't rush mead.
Now we wait.
On another note I am going to start my Strawberry Melomel this Saturday. I will post my recipe and process when I am done.
