6th in the Brew - Strawberry Grape!

Hello all!

With the finishing of the Orange I have gone ahead and started a new one. Strawberry Grape!

Here are the ingredients:

1/2 lb Strawberries - diced
1/2 lb Red seedless grapes
5 lbs Honey
3 tsp bread yeast
Water to three gallons

Process:

STERILIZE ALL EQUIPMENT!

1. Dice up 1/2 pound of strawberries
2. Add in 1/2 pound of red seedless grapes.
3. Mash fruit using a potato masher or similar device.
4. Put half a gallon of water and the fruit in the fermenter.
5. Add honey slowly and use drill to stir. (You could also use some other honey dissolving method as described in my other recipes.)
6. Once all honey is placed in fermenter fill up the fermenter with water and continue to drill for 5 more minutes.
7. Take the starting gravity reading. Mine was 1.080 roughly with the fruit sugars taken into account.
8. Pitch yeast.
9. Wait.....

Notes: I made this one intentionally dry. My hope is that it will not ferment completely out and that I can attempt a naturally carbonate this one rather than have to use the keg and CO2 to force carbonate as I did with my Orange.

Here is a small slide show of the process (summarized):

First is the strawberries, next the grapes, next the mash, finally the must after I pitched the yeast.

I'll keep you posted!
